Magdolna Nagy

Magdolna Nagy has been working for the Hungarian Open Air Museum – Museum Education and Methodology Centre in Szentendre, Hungary since 2012.  First she was head of research and development, since 2016 she has been director of the Museum Education and Methodology Centre, and project manager of the EU funded project, Museum and Library Development for Everyone. She supervises the execution of another EU funded project, Acting Communities – Active Community Involvement as well, which is aimed at, among other things,  strengthening the soial embeddedness of participatory museums.

In the last 7 years, she worked on several EU funded projects, dealing with museum education and museum community development. Previously, she worked for companies in international business service and culture, in various leading positions. She is an economist, marketing engineer and holds an MBA in business and quality management from State University of New York - Budapest University of Technology and Economics. She regularly teaches at different professional training courses, gives talks at conferences and publishes papers on museum communication, quality management, community- and service oriented museums.

At NEMO’s European Museum Conference 2019, Magdolna Nagy will participate in the European Museum Slam – Courageous Museums on 9 November 2019. In the 2019 edition of the Museum Slam, five projects that have taken a stand and where the museum has positioned itself in a societal matter will be given the stage to inspire us.
