The NEMO Members’ Meetups offer a space for our members to connect, share challenges, and learn from each other. With 30 registered participants from across Europe, the session brought together NEMO representatives, board members, and invited speakers for a focused conversation on how museums can foster healthier and more resilient working cultures.
After a warm welcome by Hanna Belz, NEMO Project Officer and moderator of the Meetup, the session opened with three short inputs:
- Hanna Belz offered a retrospective of the recent NEMO European Museum Conference 'Who cares? Museums, wellbeing, and resilience' in Horsens. She shared behind-the-scenes insights, and impressions from conversations with participants - highlighting moments that particularly resonated and pointing to broader sector trends emerging from the conference programme.
- Zane Grinvalde, NEMO Board Member, introduced the NEMO Executive Board’s Statement on wellbeing and resilience in museums. Her presentation outlined concrete recommendations for institutions seeking to strengthen their internal cultures, support staff wellbeing, and build more resilient museum structures.
- Claire Bown, creator of The Art Engager podcast, presented a preview of her special NEMO Conference episode. Recorded live at the event, the episode features interviews capturing the diverse voices, ideas, and reflections that shaped the conference atmosphere. Claire provided insight into how a podcast is created and shared her impressions of the conference and her personal tips for wellbeing.
Following the presentations, participants engaged in an open discussion, asking questions, sharing experiences from their institutions, and connecting over shared challenges and inspirations.
