On 4 June 2021, NEMO contributed with insights of the consequences of Covid-19 for museums and how they are building resilience at the Europeana Conference ‘Towards recovery: Digital capacity building in the Cultural Heritage sector’, which took place online from 3-4 June.

Organised within the framework of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the conference aims to build on the momentum of the pandemic to help shape a necessary shared understanding of digital transformation and the base for a common approach to capacity-building for the recovery, resilience and sustainability of the cultural sector in Europe.

NEMO Project Officer Elizabeth Rosenberg introduced the participants to some of the findings of NEMO’s most recent survey and report on the Covid19 situation for museums in Europe, and what they point to as capacity building needs in the museum sector.
