Workshop on strengthening the Council of Europe’s Indicator Framework on Culture and Democracy (IFCD)

During a workshop on 30 June in Berlin, statisticians in the cultural domain discussed the current Indicator Framework on Culture and Democracy and how it can be improved.

A meeting of recognised statisticians in the cultural domain took place on 30 June at the Hertie School of Governance (Berlin), gathering experts from the OECD, EUNIC, Budapest Observatory, Milan University, Speyer University, Ljubljana Institute for Economic Research, the Hertie School of Governance and Representatives of the Steering Committee for Culture, Heritage and Landscape (CDCPP).

They examined that innovative Indicator Framework and shared insights on potential improvements related to measurement, missing data, updates and possible novel approaches.

Based on the results of a survey with member states on actual use of IFCD, they also discussed relevant adjustments of the <link http: www.governancereport.org ifcd external-link-new-window external link in new>IFCD interactive online tool that allows to explore relationships between cultural and democratic components in individual countries, or among countries.
