Registration for NEMO's Annual Conference is open

NEMO's Annual Conference Money Matters: The Economic Value of Museums will take place from 10-12 November 2016 in Karlsruhe, Germany. During the three days museums and decision makers from all over Europe are invited to discuss the internal and external economic dimensions of museums. Presentations and workshops will offer opportunities for a vivid exchange with European colleagues. Have a look at the programme and register now!

CALL FOR PAPERS: Czech Association of Museums and Galleries: International Conference "The Museum and Change V", 22-24 November 2016, Prague, Czech Republic

The main theme of the fifth run of "Museums and Change" will be the impact of demographic changes on the social role of museums, in all fields and aspects of museum work. The conference will deal with five themes: "Role of Museums in the Society - History and Present", "Reflection of Conclusions of Historical Demography, Anthropology and Ethnology in Present Activities of Museums", "Current Demographic Changes in Domestic, Central European and European Context", "Statistical Bases and Economic and Technological Prerequisites of Changes of the Social Role of Museums" and "Visions and Instruments of Change of Social Role of Museums". If you are interested in presenting on either of the topics, you can apply until 31 July 2016!

Balkan Museum Network: Virtual Exhibition "My Museum and Me" is online

The Balkan Museum Network invites everyone to explore objects from the Balkan museums and hear genuine and emotional voices. "My Museum and Me" is an online exhibition presenting a selection of objects and stories selected by the curators and described by audience members. The exhibition evolves around four main themes: People Creating, Inspiration, Meanings and Personal Memories. The Balkan Museum Network welcomes comments and is looking forward to more museums joining the presentation.

Austrian Museums Association | ICOM Austria | Landesmuseum Burgenland: Migration - Inclusion - Interaction and the cultural challenges for the museum? - 27th Austrian Museum Day, 5-8 October 2016, Eisenstadt, Austria

The Austrian Museum Day (Österreichischer Museumstag) is a forum for communication and exchange of experience for all employees and professional groups in the museum or in museum-like institutions. This year's focus on museums and migration will be accompanied by best practice examples. Finnish Museums Association: Picture this! – International Conference on Photography and Videos in Museums Today, 24–25 November 2016, Helsinki, Finland

This two-day international conference organised by the Finnish Museums Association, the Finnish National Gallery, and the Finnish Museum of Photography discusses the position and challenges of museums in the world of growing and changing streams of images. International and Finnish speakers will talk about the challenges of museums' visual culture and share practical examples. Stephen Mayes, Colin White and Merja Salo have been invited as the keynote speakers at the conference. Registration begins in early September. More information...
