Johannes C. Bernhardt

Johannes C. Bernhardt is Professor of History and Media Exhibition Design at the University of Konstanz since 2024. After studying Ancient History, Modern History, and Classical Archaeology at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and the Sorbonne I – Panthéon, he earned his Ph.D. in 2011. After holding positions at the universities of Freiburg, Mannheim, and Bochum (until 2016), he moved to the Baden State Museum in Karlsruhe in 2017, where he worked on the museum’s participatory opening and digital reorientation (until 2023). His work focuses on cultural history, issues of digital transformation, the design of digital media, and the application of artificial intelligence, as well as approaches of new museology and innovative exhibition concepts.
