Vera Carasso

Vera Carasso (1975) has been the director of the Museum Association and the Museum Pass Foundation since January 2022.In the twelve years before, she was the director of Museum Speelklok, Head of Collections at Kunstmuseum Den Haag and director of Museum Affairs at The National Maritime Museum. She is a member of the NEMO Executive Board since 2023 and was appointed the role as Vice-Chair in 2024.

 

She always combines her background as an art historian with her business experience at auction house Christie's, where she started her career. As director, Carasso represents the 468 members and puts their public interest first. She is responsible for the collective promotion of all the museums and the Museum Pass, which currently has over 1.5 million cardholders. 

At NEMO’s European Museum Conference 2026, Vera Carasso will facilitate the workshop "The Museum Card as a driver of audience growth and sector resilience" on Monday 12 October.
