From 26–27 June 2025, over 100 museum professionals from Ukraine and international partners will gather in Warsaw, Poland, for the OBMIN Conference “Resilience. Recovery. Future: Culture in the Recovery of Ukraine.” As a proud partner of OBMIN and the conference, NEMO will contribute to key discussions on how culture can help rebuild and reimagine Ukraine in the wake of ongoing conflict.

The conference will explore how to further strengthen resilience, discuss the role of culture in modern society, the link between cultural heritage and national security as well as the new responsibilities of museums-from shaping new narratives to combating disinformation. Furthermore, the conference will inform proposals for the next Ukraine Recovery Conference, taking place in Rome from 10-11 July, where governments and institutions supporting Ukraine will meet to decide on additional recovery actions.

In line with NEMO and OBMIN’s strategic cooperation agreement, NEMO is proud to contribute to the conference as an official partner. Additionally, NEMO Secretary General will join a panel on 27 June on museums as laboratories for new narratives and how to fight disinformation.

Next to important discussions, opportunities to deepen collaboration with Ukrainian museums and explore new initiatives, conference participants are invited to the opening of the exhibition “In the Eye of the Storm: Modernism in Ukraine”. Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź, one hour south of Warsaw, will conduct a special tour through the unique exhibition, created by the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid.

The conference is organised under the patronage of the governments of Ukraine, Poland, France and Germany and the patronage of the Italian embassy in Warsaw.
