Mental Health Summit culminates in call for dedicated EU Youth Mental Health Action Plan

A key outcome of the recent Mental Health Summit, held as part of European Mental Health Week 2025, was a united call to EU institutions for the creation of a dedicated EU Youth Mental Health Action Plan, which is open for endorsement by all stakeholders.

Organised by Members of the European Parliament András Kulja and Zoltán Tarr, the high-level summit took place in Brussels and brought together over 98 mental health experts, cultural practitioners, and civil society organisations.

In a time when young people across Europe face increasing mental health challenges, the proposed Action Plan aims to unite voices from policy, health, and culture in shaping a shared European response. Its vision is clear: to build a future where every young person in Europe can access support, feel seen, and thrive.

A recording of the event and presentation slides will soon be available on Culture Action Europe’s YouTube channel.

The summit’s focus aligns closely with the themes of NEMO’s upcoming European Museum Conference “Who cares? Museums, wellbeing, and resilience”, taking place from 26–28 October 2025 in Horsens, Denmark. The conference will welcome over 200 museum professionals, cultural workers, health practitioners, and others interested in exploring how museums can contribute to wellbeing and resilience.

Save the dates, registration opens in mid-June.
