The two day meeting took place at the FeliXart Museum and the Africa Museum. At the Africa Museum, the board also got to meet Guido Gryseels, Director, to discuss the museum’s new visibility regarding decolonisation, about shrinking budgets for museums and how museums foster international cooperation.
Whilst in Brussels, the board also made sure to attend the event "Act for Europe through Culture", organized by European Cultural Foundation and Culture Action Europe, in cooperation with the European Heritage Alliance 3.3 and BOZAR on 23 September. The event offered a platform for the participants to debate the place of arts, culture and cultural heritage in remit of the future European Commission and NEMO was thrilled to hear that Sabine Verheyen, Chair of the CULT Committee, is supporting the request of bringing back culture to Commissioner Gabriel Mariya portfolio.
