The EU summit meeting was the longest to date but after difficult negotiations, the Council found a compromise on the next 7-year budget. The Creative Europe budget of 1,64 billion Euro is better than the proposal made by the European Commission in May 2019, but far from the doubling that NEMO and many other European cultural organisations asked for by endorsing and participating in Culture Action Europe’s campaign “double for culture”.
