Museums and their missions, responsibilities, and modes of engagement within their communities are in a constant process of transformation in response to social and economic development at local, national, and global levels. Inviting dialogue and cooperating with different sectors and getting out of their box helps museums to create new value, not only for themselves, but also for other sectors. The crucial role that museums play in a healthy and cohesive society is also reflected in the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018. Building a better future in Europe relies on engagement with our cultural heritage.
