Fundación Uxío Novoneyra will coordinate the centenary of the Joyce´s masterpiece "Ulysses" in the city of Lugo during the Month of Galician Literature. At the heart of Episode 8 (Lestrygonians), is Leopold Bloom’s search for food in the centre of Dublin – he settles eventually on a gorgonzola cheese sandwich and a glass of white wine for digestion. Walking and food are also at the heart of Galician culture. The world-famous Primitive Way of Saint James – for many pilgrims fasting and hunger are an integral part of the experience – passes through Lugo, which is a full Museum-city. Galicia itself has a unique cuisine narrated by its poets and writers, celebrated in particular for its seafood, its meat and cheeses, and its white wine.
