Call for Proposals: Intangible Cultural Heritage, Museums and Participation

Share your inspiring examples on the topic of Intangible Cultural Heritage and Participation at an international conference and expert meeting of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and Museum Project, which NEMO is an associated partner of.

This event is the second of five expert meetings that will take place over the course of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and Museums Project (IMP). To each expert meeting 20 museum professionals from the participating countries - The Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, France and Belgium (four from each country) - are invited to join the discussions focusing on one aspect of ICH and museums over the course of two days.

The second meeting from 27-28 February 2018 in Palermo, Italy, deals with ICH, museums and participation. Particularly, the role museums could play in the process of dialogue, re-negoiated roles and shared decision making with ICH practitioners on the safeguarding efforts that relate to the living heritage practices they want to transmit to future generations.

IMP is looking for contributions about projects, practices and programmes that take place in the context of a museum and have as a strong and inherent feature the active participation of practitioners of intangible heritage in relation to the safeguarding of their living heritage practices. Preferably, these projects are initiated by ICH-practitioners and supported by museums, but museums could also have been the initiative takers.

To apply, please fill out the <link https: www.ichandmuseums.eu en events detail window for sending>online submission form by 20 December 2017.

The members of the IMP Steering Group will assess the submissions and inform you by 8 January 2018 whether your proposal is accepted.

Participation is free of charge. Applicants can find out more detailed information about the subscription modalities in the <link https: www.ichandmuseums.eu src frontend files userfiles external-link-new-window external link in new>Guidelines.
