NEMO joined EC discussion about artificial intelligence in the Cultural and Creative Sectors

Upon personal invitation by the European Commission’s DG CONNECT, NEMO joined the online workshop Opportunities and Challenges of Artificial Intelligence for the Cultural and Creative Sectors (CCS) on 30 September 2021.

During the workshop, DG CONNECT (Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology) presented the first findings of a study on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the CCSs, which is envisaged to be completed in December 2021.

NEMO contributed with a museum point of view in the discussions about potential and challenges of AI use in different cultural and creative sectors. The participants also got to discuss the opportunities, challenges and limitations of using AI, in particular for small and independent players. They also exchanged on growth prospects and actions needed to unlock the real potential in AI technologies e.g. in terms of pooling data, skills and investment.
