The Legacy of the EYCH 2018 was discussed at the last EYCH Stakeholder Meeting

Today, on 8 November 2018, NEMO attended the sixth and final meeting of the European Year of Cultural Heritage (EYCH) stakeholder committee in Leipzig, Germany. The past year was summarized and the delegates discussed ways of keeping the legacy of the year strong and relevant in the future.

Over 11 500 events were organised across Europe during the EYCH 2018 and 6.2 million people were reached.

NEMO's Secretary General Julia Pagel presented NEMO's activities related to the EYCH 2018  and put an extra focus on the new museum advocacy initiative NEMO Political Internships in Museums. Julia showed a video from MEP Julie Ward's internship at the Bonnefantenmuseum in Maastricht, The Netherlands, and informed the EYCH stakeholders about the programme's effects and how it is part of keeping the legacy of the EYCH 2018 alive and flourishing.
