The Horizon Europe funded project Towched explores the role of arts, culture, and heritage in fostering inclusive, lifelong learning based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and a Human Rights-Based Approach. Central to the project is the belief that Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is not limited to formal schooling, but represents a continuous, community-driven process of social learning. It empowers individuals with the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes needed to make informed, responsible decisions for a more sustainable future.
The survey seeks to:
- Identify how museum collections are currently being utilised in ESD-related activities
- Understand institutional experiences with planning, collaboration, and evaluation
- Highlight opportunities and barriers in current practice
The findings will directly inform the development of practical tools, training opportunities, and collaborative resources to support museums and partners engaging in education for sustainable development. All responses will remain confidential, with data analysed only in aggregated form.
In addition to participating in the survey, institutions are encouraged to explore further involvement in the Towched project, including pilot initiatives, training programmes, contributions to a shared digital repository, and other collaborative activities. A quarterly newsletter offers regular updates on project progress and opportunities for institutional engagement.
Please consider sharing the survey with colleagues and partners in your network. Expanding our reach will strengthen the findings and help build a more diverse and inclusive community of practice.
