NEMO’s latest Members’ Meetup on 13 March again offered members the chance to share ideas and engage in discussions on relevant topics, focusing this time on insights on the MOI! project and the House of European History’s touring exhibition.

The second NEMO Members’ Meetup took place on 13 March from 10:30-12:00 CET, hosted by ELizabeth Wilde (NEMO Policy Officer) and Mira Höschler (NEMO Community Manager). The meeting was held online via Zoom, providing an opportunity for members to exchange ideas and discuss relevant topics. During the meetup, member organisations BAM! Strategie Culturali and the House of European History shared insights into two of their recent projects.

After brief introductions of the members in attendance, updates on NEMO activities and offers were provided, Federico Borreani from BAM!, joined by Pirjo Hamari of the Finnish Heritage Agency, discussed the MOI! Museums of Impact framework: a European museum self-evaluation toolkit aimed at museums of all sizes and types. The framework is designed to assist museums in increasing their impact on society. The development process involved hosting a series of workshops and open stakeholder forums to formulate the new model, conducting pilots in several museums to test the model, and publishing and disseminating information about it.

Following this, Raluca Neamu of the House of European History presented "Fake for Real," a touring exhibition that explores the history of forgery and falsification. The exhibition delves into various falsifications throughout history, detailing the historical circumstances that led to their creation, the motives behind them, and their eventual exposure. The House of European History also announced that they are seeking a host museum to continue the touring exhibition. In case of interest, people are encouraged to contact Raluca Neamu at raluca.neamu@ext.europarl.europa.eu.

Throughout the event, break-out rooms facilitated Q&A opportunities, allowing members to engage more deeply with the topics presented. Additionally, members shared announcements in the plenary, further enriching the exchange of information and ideas.

We warmly invite all members of NEMO to join us for the next Members' Meetup, scheduled for 12 June at 13:00 CEST. It's not only a great opportunity to stay connected with the network, but also a chance to enjoy casual updates and delve deeper into what's happening in the European museum community. We look forward to welcoming you at the next event!
