Watch online: NEMO Webinar on museum mission, vision and values

On 29 January 2020, David Vuillaume, NEMO Chair and Director of the German Museums Association, facilitated the free webinar “Mission, vision and values, what else?”. The video recording and the presentation are now available on NEMO’s website.

In a changing world, museums should regularly think about what they actually are doing, what they want to achieve and how they are working. During the one-hour webinar, David gave the participants some keys to develop, confirm or rethink a museum identity statement. He also answered some of the participants’ questions on the topic.

David Vuillaume has been chairing NEMO since 2014 and he has been director of the German Museums Association since 2017. Prior to this, he was head of the joint office of the Swiss Museums Association and ICOM Switzerland for 11 years. He studied art history, museology and business administration, and has gained extensive experience in network management at various museums and institutions.

The webinar was part of the BE MUSEUMER programme which aims to increase the professionalism of young museum workers in the South Caucasus region (Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan). The Creative Europe funded project is led by the Georgian Museum Association together with NEMO and the Academy of Cultural Management. Following the first training opportunity, which was exclusive to museum workers in the South Caucasus region, a free webinar on the same topic and led by the same facilitator was organised.
