The European Commission has launched a public consultation on the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) to gather citizens' and stakeholders' views on priorities for the EU’s budget beyond 2027. Submissions are collected until 6 May 2025.

NEMO has already responded to the consultation, emphasising the crucial role of EU funding for culture and museums in the upcoming MFF. NEMO encourages museums, cultural professionals, museum advocates, and citizens alike to take part in the consultation and make their voices heard and contribute to a shaping a budget that reflects the cultural and social priorities of Europe.

Connected to the public consultation, the European Commission published a Communication on ‘The Road to the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF)' on 12 February 2025, outlining key priorities and guidelines for the EU’s budget beyond 2027. The public consultation is part of the initiative, inviting citizens and stakeholders to share their views on the priorities and policies that should shape the future EU long-term budget.
